Voice Casting – Voice Over Talent Database – Week 2 in Review

There’s always some sort of risk when you leave yourself open for comments from customers. One of the things I have mentioned here and there when it comes to the design of the new database is transparency. We all want a voice casting site built upon transparency. What does it mean to be transparent? It means not having to sit around and try to dissect how or if someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes.

People want to know what is going on and it’s pretty hard for you guys to stay interested in a web site you can neither touch nor see. So it is my job, in the interest of transparency, to keep you informed about all of the things that are going on in and around the site. So I thought today with this post, we’d let you know what customers have been saying about us and the site as it stands so far. This is how people feel about what we’re doing.

Here’s what they won’t post on the Yahoo Voice Over Group

I guess I’ve burned one too many bridges over at the Yahoo voice over group .

Apparently it’s ok if every voice over seminar in the world gets announced over there, but god forbid if I try to mention anything for free to the voice over community members who make up their membership. I’ve tried twice to post this over there, but the gatekeepers obviously have an axe to grind. Pretty much like the gatekeepers at other business directories, who for years have refused to list this site as a resource for voice over talent in their directory. Thanks guys. Keep up the good fight. Maybe one day I’ll quit and go away.

Some Changes Headed This Way…

The time has come where I’ve turned some of my attention to the antiquated parts of this web site that have been laying around since it first breathed internet life as a simple one page contact sheet over on www.michaelminetree.com

I was a late comer to the internet if you look at the fact that Ebay beat me by 6 years.
I have had to learn to code all of my pages by hand, and every now and then I get an itch to change things around. Open source code has made it possible for me to have this little internet voice over wonderland. The thought of paying a designer makes me want to cringe. However – it would certainly speed things up if I decided to bite the bullet and release control over to some stranger… Or it would invite more headaches.

So here is a list of a few things coming down the pipeline…
